Embedded mnemonic letter cards

Designed by a Speech-language pathologist for Canadian children.

Super Secret Code is a bilingual learn-to-read system built by a speech-language pathologist for Canadian children. It was designed to give all Canadian kids the opportunity to read in both English and French without having to choose one language over the other.

Our experience is ideal for beginning readers up to 7 years old and older kids that struggle to read.

Carefully structured materials to give all kids the best chance at learning to read.

1

Embedded mnemonic letters

To make it easier for kids to learn the association between the sound of a letter and its shape, we use letters shaped like a keyword that starts with the sound.

2

Recognizing a letter by its sound

Audio cues and fun illustrated letters keep things engaging while also helping children recognize the sounds of letters.

3

Saying the sounds of the letters

Children get to use audio and visuals with repeated practice to learn how to say the letter sounds.

4

Vocabulary

Learners are exposed to word meanings through interactive activities that prime their understanding of how letters, sounds, and words fit together into real vocabulary.

5

Blending sounds to read words

With their letter sound knowledge, learners are guided to connect the sounds to read words.

6

Listening for sounds in words

Auditory activities paired with letters help learners recognize the sounds in words, helping them connect the dots for reading and spelling.

7

Alphabet arc for writing words

With lowercase and uppercase letterforms, alphabet arcs help learners find the letter they need for spelling a sound and learn its shape.

8

Decodable stories

Learners can decode words themselves through interactive and engaging stories that bring all the learnings together.

Hello! I'm Theresa, the founder of Super Secret code.

I’ve been helping kids learn to read for the past 11 years, first as a speech-language pathologist with a school board, and now in private practice. I live in Ottawa with my endlessly supportive husband and sweet son.

The kids I know and work with are so important and inspire me every day. It's because of their playfulness and curiosity that I can stay grounded in the present. When we connect with care and trust, kids move forward with success and confidence.
